NMW brings Australia’s manufacturing industry together to showcase new capabilities while addressing issues affecting the industry’s future. Australia’s largest integrated manufacturing industry event, NMW 2012 will occupy most of the Sydney Showground with industry showcases across 12 specialist zones: including sustainable manufacturing, engineering, IT and robotics and automation. NMW 2012 brings customers, suppliers, innovators and industry experts together under one roof. It’s industry’s best chance to see new solution demonstrations – compare technologies from around the world – and source new opportunities for gaining a competitive edge. Building on the success of last year’s event, and with landmark companies committed to attending, NMW 2012 is certain to be Australia’s best source of ideas and solutions for manufacturers this year. Attendance is free for trade only. For further information, visit www.nationalmanufacturingweek.com.au
This overview of industrial measurement and control uses a generally non-mathematical approach. You will leave with a basis for communicating with control system professionals.
This course explains the parts and technologies that make up a SCADA system and shows you how to evaluate potential benefits of applying the technology to your process application.
Debate continues as to how to make choices in safety instrumented systems (past experience, qualitative judgement, quantitative analysis and so on). This seminar will cover the basics of what needs to be done in the design and selection of safety systems.
This course presents the methodology for developing and applying instrument and control drawings and the ISA Standards available to assist in this effort. You will develop actual documents for a simple project to aid your understanding.
As a professional involved with functional safety, your ability to demonstrate competency in this subject is taking on greater importance and is being driven by standards such as AS 61508 and AS 61511. The HIMA facilitated TÜV Functional Safety Program will provide you with valuable skills and knowledge which can be used in your daily activities. It also offers TÜV approved certification on the successful completion of a final exam. The course has been developed to provide an overview of current industry standards, functional safety concepts and current tools used to determine safety integrity levels, while applying industry recognised techniques and methodologies.
This manufacturing event offers free of charge seminars in production and quality management, MES, automation and metrology.
Participants will gain knowledge of function, design, operation and the required maintenance procedures for safety relief valves.
Course participants will learn about the various types of pneumatic actuators - their operation, sizing and selection.
This 4-1/2 day course is for practising engineers and senior technicians who are seeking advanced training in control valve selection and sizing; and severe service. This course proceeds from a review of basic sizing and selection concepts to advanced concepts used when selecting and sizing control valves for severe service and unusual applications. The course will also include lectures and numerous problem-solving sessions that make extensive use of FirstVue software and other sizing and selection tools.
Participants will gain knowledge regarding all aspects on control valves and related equipment with a focus on construction and operation. This course also involves comprehension of valve sizing exercises.
Participants on this course will be provided with training on the installation, calibration and commissioning of DVCs using Handheld Communicator and ValveLink software. Valve diagnostic analysis and fault diagnosis. All activities involve a practical “hands-on” approach.
This integrated course provides effective HAZOP training for both team leaders and team members. As well as presentations covering all essential aspects of the method, there are workshops on HAZOPs for continuous processes, sequential operations and computer-controlled plant. The relationship between HAZOP and other hazard identification (HAZID) methods and hazard studies is discussed. Participants with experience in HAZOP study should consider applying as a team leader. Newcomers to the technique will benefit from attending as a team member. Participants attending as team leaders must have experience of HAZOP. Team members may have little or no experience of HAZOPs, although some background will be helpful.
National and international manufacturers of production technology will be presenting machine tools, precision tools, sheetmetal technology, automation equipment. The event is co-hosted with National Manufacturing Week (NMW).
Visitors will have the opportunity to see and hear about best industry practices, new technologies, products and services and talk to industry experts in the areas of automation, process control and safety solutions. Showcasing a combination of ‘hands on’ lab sessions and presentations from industry specialists, the event will also feature a comprehensive Safety Forum — ‘an event within an event,’ highlighting leading industry automation safety and process control applications. This free two-day event commences at Melbourne Olympic Park on 6-7 March, then progressing on to Sydney (2-3 May), Brisbane (22-23 May) and Perth (6-7 June). Full details of the safety forum, ‘hands on’ lab sessions, presentations and interactive pavilions will be revealed in the coming months.
After the successful rollout of the Inaco Technology Tour, we are introducing a series of on-site customer technology workshops. Each of these workshops are approximately 60-90minutes and is highly weighted to expose you to technology - hands-on.
