The Modicon M340 from Schneider Electric is designed to provide high-end performance in a mid-range processor, and uses Unity Pro configuration software - the single software package for all Modicon controllers. This allows for the full development of the Modicon M340 applications, including on-line updates and simulation with comprehensive debug functions.
The M340 includes four Mb internal RAM with up to 128 MB additional memory, FTP access, and rack expansion capability of up to four 12-slot racks.
It features an integrated USB port and a choice of communication ports including Ethernet, CANopen and Modbus. Its extended operational temperature range (-25°C +70°C) and conformal coating enables the unit to withstand harsh environments.
The RTU model supports DNP 3.0 and IEC60870-5 serial or Modbus TCP/IP connections, and all come available with a variety of power supply options. The Modicon M340 now complies with the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) IECEx certification scheme for explosive atmospheres.
