Manufacturing processes create waste which can become hazardous on the factory floor if not dealt with appropriately. Industrial ducting solutions company, Eximo, has developed a new waste handling system to safely remove dust and restore order to the production line.
The new Optiflow is a pressure-driven extraction system that was built specifically for dust extraction and transportation. It creates a negative pressure chamber across an entire factory or processing plant to eliminate the total static pressure of the factory’s system, by as much as 50 per cent, according to Eximo.
The Optiflow essentially provides users with a safe way of handling waste clippings and dust, and also eliminates any unnecessary and potentially-dangerous labour content normally used to manually shift waste, says the company.
The locally-developed solution also uses very little electricity — a standard Optiflow system, on current average electricity prices around Australia, costs about 16 cents per kilowatt (kW) hour to operate. During peak times, on a working day, it requires 165 kW of operating power. And at non-peak times - such as night shifts - operating power requirements drop to 65 kW.
